hr.pdtv ?! the hr xvids are usually 960x528 - isn't that higher
than pdtv
resolution !?
these hr-pdtv caps are mainly full resolution (about 720x480) pdtv rips actually
(as far as i know), so these are smaller than standard hr-hd rips but they look
better than normal pd rips
hey now! this is great news. this is the first 350 mb scrubs that i can see currently on eztv. we love
scrubs, and the higher resolution is just the ticket!
they are normally about 720x528 or 720x544 to keep the correct ar
but basically its just the full pdtv resolution and ac-3 audio
thanks - that's what i was thinking.
though i wonder, if they're not using the ~960x528 resolution of regular hr.hdtv
rips, do they _really_ need to double the file size over the standard pdtv/xvid
rips ?
its normally a smart thing to double the size
that actually keeps the bits/pixel about the same as the regular rip (unlike
normal 350mb and 700mb hr). the reason they can get away with doing cartoon
hr.pdtv at 233mb is because since its a cartoon there really isn't much detail
and all the big solid colors help so its mostly just done for the 5.1 ac-3.
the reason why they cant do this show at 960x528 is because at best the show
only airs at 720x480 with 4:3 flag (same as fullscreen dvd).
960x528 would be widescreen and this show is fullscreen
