i couldn't believe the cw doesn't broadcast the standard definition version of
veronica mars letterboxed! i had to turn off the tv and turn to the always
reliable eztv.

excuse me but why would you want it in letterbox, i hate it when they broadcast
things in letterbox, why would you want black borders to take up your tv instead
of the actual program.
and many thanks to eztv, i live in britain and we do get some stuff a few weeks
later like 24 or before you like stargate but the majority of programs take ages
to make it on to british telly.
i know that it is hard for some people to understand but... you actually get a bigger picture (more
information) with a 16:9 letterbox broadcast on 4:3. but then i guess you don't mind missing out on 20%
of the action?
i second that. i never understood how standard definition tv stations can live
with themselves after cropping off a good portion of a hd show. pathetic, or
ridiculous, you decide. thank goodness we have eztv.

huh?
excuse me, but do you know anything about tv and aspect ratios? if a program is
in widescreen, then forcing it to fit a square 4:3 ratio screen will cut off 20%
to 30% of the picture on the sides.
maybe they need to attach an intelligence test to the bbc license fee. if you
are too stupid to know the difference between a 16:9 ratio and a 4:3 ratio, then
you get no television for the year. sorry, study up for your a levels in the
meantime.
