before anyone claims something ridiculous:
hbo has been known to track people for downloading content originally from their network.

take precautions -- you have been warned (unnecessarily).

download sopranos if you live in the ussa at your own risk. they have hired
safenet inc. to monitor downloads and harvest ips. here's some extra ips to
permanently block in pg2 for safenet but it's still too risky.
38.0.0.0 - 38.255.255.255
192.43.161.0 - 192.43.161.255

i'd like to point out to my canadians that i've never heard of a canadian
getting a letter from hbo... though i guess we'd get ours from tmn, if they cared.

also: 346 megs for what i assume is a 50 minute episode? why not an even 350?

hey; thanks for letting us in on the info; my peer guardian has been updated.

im glad ive moved on from bittorrent.
there are far, far better means to acquire tv/movies/etc 😉
thanks to safenet/hbo for giving me the motivation to stop using bittorrent and
find a far more vast collection of multimedia on the internet!

1st rule of fightclub: dont talk about fightclub.
2nd rule ...

-take away from that what you will.

if you guys had half a brain you'd all be using peer guardian/safe peer and have
torified your bittorrent client long ago...

guess i have half a brain. i'm running a daily updated peer guardian, azureus
with the safe peer plugin (though it's redundant, from same source as pg) and a
hardware firewall. i don't run tor b/c the bandwidth is horrible and running p2p
on it is abusive to the people running free onion routers.

the point is, i still got 2 letters in 2 weeks. i'll be getting sopranos from
irc or straight from usenet instead of .torrent, why risk it for a show that's
really gone down hill anyway.

if you configure tor properly it doesn't strain the routers, also if you don't
like tor you should be using i2p - besides everyone online should be using
either tor or i2p if they're at all concerned about their privacy...
