and another crappy release from sorny.
there are noticeable audio and video glitches.

ever since lost started airing in canada 2 hours ahead of the us, we have been
greeted with such crap as sorny and caph releases.
no more xor, lol or notv quality releases.
instead, we download crap and then have to wait for the proper release.

please sorny, do us all a favor and stop releasing crap. it will save us bandwidth.

vso's convertxtodvd is quite a good program, quite fast (30 mins or less for
tv eps depending on your pc) you can add custom menus, and it will burn
directly to dvd when it has finished, nice to be able to leave it alone for a
bit and come back, eject disc and watch!

good thing is with this unlike winavi, you can cram 4 eps on 1 disc and they
still look great.

damn... alot of people here on iinet (in sydney on iinet 120gb myself)
i feel for those capped, 64k just aint enough

so some say it's perfect, others say there are glitches. what's the consensus?

last week's caph release was perfect, and video-wise looked stunning. ditto for
their first attempt, which annoyed people only because it was encoded as a
multipart opendml file (easily fixed by the end user).

those groups are no strangers to nuked releases themselves.

consensus is difficult since there are simply too many different ways
to play these files. while i haven't seen any notable issues in this release or
any other in memory (including the much-reviled one a couple weeks ago, which
for me amounted to a couple extremely minor video glitches in which nothing was
missed), someone else using a different player, codecs (or lack thereof), dvd
player, etc will see something quite different.

@autopenguin & rseiler

i've seen lost.s03e17.hdtv.xvid-sorny and there really are some audio and video
glitches like the ones on sorny's previous release. picture and sync seem fine,
though (no green frames like their previous release).

caph's latest releases are fine, but they started out very badly with lost 3x12
out of sync + opendml encoded.
sorny's releases are simply dreadful.

it's true that no release group is immune to nukes, but one cannot stop thinking
that these new groups came into the spotlight by releasing lost episodes, taking
advantage of the 2-hour airing gap between canada and the us.

these are newbie groups putting speed over quality just to get credited. they
are bound to make poor quality releases, unlike the more experienced groups who
are not craving for attention.
