anyone else having problems with the sound? i.e. the voices are very
soft
compared to the music with regard to the volume?
had exactly that problem with last week's yestv release. i've had this happen
in many scene movie dvdrips, so whether it's just that the sound is set up for
5.1 surround, or it's a common problem, i really don't know.
the audio/video problems with this encode appear to be with the editing and
encoding process, possibly from using transcoding to an awkward resolution /
aspect ratio.
i threw the file into gspot and it said it was transcoded with transcode 1.0.2
using the out of date xvid 1.0.3. it used a lame audio tract. the resolution
was 624x352.
to me this sounds like it was done with open source or free software in its
early stages. in my experience if you are transcoding or encoding with these
tools and you are using uncommon or non-standard parameters you may have to try
several times to get a good encoding.
maybe with the rush to be first to the scene people are not catching these poor
encodes until after they are released.
eh. notv releases are famous about them being nuked&propered from time to time,
so i'm not suprised about the glitches and other quality problems. hope someone
releases a hq version soon, 'cause i too love the bittersweet taste of this show.
