How to download tv episodes from network websites?

i'm wondering how those wonderful releasers download shows from network websites (e.g. download the
flash movie from abc's video website).

one particular show i'm trying to download is located at:
http://www.hgtv.ca/video/?dpid=axxahlkzdhxgtcuzplhvslwocpkfujmx
show is called big city broker.

i tried using the conventional youtube/google video programs/firefox extensions/url convertors, etc....,
but all no go.

wmrecorder works for me

wmrecorder only works for certain things, it doesn't work on the nbc site but
it does on the cbs innertube, comedy central and i used it to download the
live webcasts of the class.
