los angeles in the 1940s is full of glamorous movie stars, powerful studio heads and returning war
heroes. but it's also the backdrop to a tug of war between a corrupt police force and a violent criminal
network determined to make the city its west coast home. detective joe teague, an ex-marine who
plays his cards close his chest, gets caught in the middle of that war during his assignment to the new
organized crime division. it's headed by detective hal morrison, who becomes suspicious after
learning teague is asked to help blackmail a high-powered mobster. however, police capt. william
parker sees the scheme as a perfect opportunity to bring down gangsters like bugsy siegel and mickey
cohen, and he looks to teague for key information in the lapd's crusade against organized crime.

i'd watch this!

i'm pretty excited about this. the secondary cast looks really promising. neal mcdonagh is a personal
favorite and itzin is a joy to watch. my question is: why ed burns as siegel? i didn't mind warren
beatty as siegel because whatever else he is (tremendous asshat?) he's a talented actor and director
- plus he had annette play a sultry gangster's moll when she was in her sexy prime 🙂

burns just doesn't make sense to me. he seems very irish which doesn't fit the character at all, and
he doesn't particularly look like siegel - who imho looked a lot like the late great phil hartman from
news radio and snl fame.

milo ventimiglia and robert knepper are reasons enough to give this a chance.

"the seductive story of the violent crime underbelly of america's".... ant that's what i was
thinking until i got to that sentence.. "underbelly" ... hope it is as good as the aussie show.

the first two seasons of the aussie show 'underbelly' were pretty awesome.
after that it went way downhill for me. i lost all interest. maybe it was just me,
at that period of time i was too busy out partying everynight. anyway, we have
most of the underbelly episodes http://eztv.it/shows/285/underbelly/ and the
episodes that we don't have can be found on other torrent sites...if anyone is curious.
