apparently netgear's eva8000 doesn't play h.264 (they don't mention that in the
specification's page) and. as per wikipedia article, appletv should be able to
play it, although in another container.

this comes up as a mkv file - cant view just listen..can anyone tell me how i
can view this or do i have to download an avi file instead?

if you want the best quality available this is it. get coreavc and it'll play as
it should.
