plays fine on my xbmc enabled xbox, also not a terrible episode (bloodhounds
are neat)

plays fine for me on xbmc, but then xbmc plays everything and everything...
even files that windows media player chokes on.

no, its the crappy enconding and shitty audio. the video width/height is totally
different from other releases on top ic that they encoded the audio wrong and
the video is encoded at 138kbps instead of the usual 142-143kbps also the video
sample size 12bit instead of 24.

this release group did a really really really horrible job.

maybe next week you could show us all how to do it.... :rollyingeyes:
i really cant understand you guys always bitching about stuff other people give
you for free...
if you dont like it, it is your bad, you should be thank the release
groups...your other option is to watch it on tv, or buy the dvd later...

people like you accept anything so its understandable that this release its

im going to have to disagree with you all.

this episode has great video quality compared to other mythbuster episodes.

play it on your computer and you wont have any issues.

quit using that crappy stand alone player. get an xbox, softmod it for free
then download xbmc and enjoy decent playback with almost any encode.

i hate to do anything which could be construed as flaming, but i gotta call em
as i see em... quit being an idiot 1-2o2-521-9121, i highly doubt you have any
knowledge of encoding, based on the statements you made. first and foremost is
that there is no way to control the bitrate that comes out of the l.a.m.e. mp3
encoder, it will use whatever it needs to reach the quality setting
specified(v0 - v9) and the mp3 encoder decided that 138 kbps avg was what it
needed to hit the specified quality switch. next is the retarded statement you
made about the video. the xvid codec uses the highly compressed yv12
colorspace, where it uses 12 bits to represent each pixel, and there is no way
to make xvid use anything else. what i suspect, is that the person encoding
the video turned on some of the fancier settings in xvid, like gmc and
quaterpel, and your shitty standalone can't handle it. what usually happens is
ppl avoid those switches so that encodes will be compatible with crappy
chipsets, a somewhat deplorable practice. i would think that if every1 used
em, eveuntaully the chipset makers would have to support it. so before you fly
of the handle and talk smack, @ least make sure you know wtf you are talking
about, else you end up looking like a total fool.

at any rate, i don't use any external media player to play things such as this,
all do is play it in media player classic (like i do everything) then drag it
over to my second desktop.... which is currently configured to my tv. yey for
video cards that support dual monitor's and s-video out!
