on june 5, 2013, showtime cancelled the irons-fronted period drama, and also scrapped plans for a
two-hour wrap-up movie.

last episode of the series: 3x10 -- jun 16, 2013 -- the prince

"when they looked at what it could cost, it was just too expensive," series creator neil jordan told
deadline . "i would have loved to bring all the characters to a conclusion. all of the actors were
heartbroken we couldn't continue, and so was i."

had the telepic been given a green light, viewers would have been treated to what jordan calls
a "totally biblical ending" featuring the pope dying and no one willing to hear his confession. when they
finally find a confessor and the pope starts to repent his sins, the confessor interrupts him, saying, "i'm
sorry, it's too late, you're already dead and burning in hell."

these fuckin bastards. so again we watched a series for the last 3 years and get no conclusion
whatsoever. feels like a total wast to have watched it at all.

thank you showtime for fucking your viewers again!

this is almost criminal. i petition for a general rule that a series that was running for more than
one year should at least be given the opportunity for fitting ending.

this happens over and over again. i'm not angry it got cancelled. but at least let it end with a
feeling of finality and not some fucking cliffhanger.

the news of this have been circling for months. yes its cancelled due to budget reasons

@ferozban not sure what you are referring to, the borgias was the only show that showtime cancelled in a
while

a truly crappy ending for a great show.

bummer, really enjoyed the show. well, i was curious as to whether the show followed the facts or
not, this is a good opportunity to find a good book on the subject and read the actual conclusion.

time to crowd-fund.

lol... totally called it in the other news thread. exactly the same as deadwood

ffing again always the goods shows who are left without an ending
luckily showtime is not that bad as syfy with cancelling but this really sucks becourse it was a
great show
who deserved an ending

i would really like to know who makes these decisions. with so much crap that get an extra seasons,
and as the other commenters said at least finish it properly with a conclusive ending!!!
