british cult hit "the it crowd" to return for finale special.

shooting will begin in a few weeks for what will be a 40-min special to air later this year, said graham
lineham at a recent conference in germany. conflicting schedules between the actors has been blamed
for the lengthy delay in the getting the special made, likely chris o'dowd's seemingly full plate with his
tv series "moone boy", his run on hbo's "girls", "the sapphires" film, and more. katherine parker also
recently gave birth which pushed filming back a bit, as well.

yeah baby! :d i can't wait! i love(d) this show!

i havent kept up with it after the series ended, but is there any chance they gonna continue it depending
on viewers of the special?

finally!

i don't think so, sadly. it's pretty much a miracle that they're even doing
this final episode at all. originally the plan was to do an entire final season. ☹️

i am now one happy little vegemite. cant wait for this. wo knows, the bbc gods may bless us
with just one more season..... i dream i know.

channel 4 were the studio behind the it crowd, and most of linehans other shows like father ted and
black books, so bbc would have nothing to do with this. unless you're talking about dave picking
this up for a season or two like they did with red dwarf, but red dwarf was a bbc two production.
it's never going to happen. the it crowd was a good way for the three leads to enhance their
reputations and advance their careers but i'm sure in the back of their minds they were worried
about being locked into those characters like dougal and mrs. doyle from father ted. i find it hard
to look at ardal o'hanlon and pauline mclynn in any other roles now without hearing their
catchphrases in my head. ah go on, go on, go on, go on, go on!
