they did not want gordon's help, they wanted him to confirm their delusion that their food is
perfect and the customers are insane and stupid, that the staff is stupid.

if this was some kind of publicity stunt on their part--and i was thinking that throughout the episode because, really, how
clueless and awful can any one person be?--then it backfired on them spectacularly. i can't think of one positive thing that
they gained out of this, unless her aim was her own reality show, which really wouldn't surprise me.
