ha, it's a bbc production, what a surprise, the central hub of i'm gay and so shall everyone else
who works here be unless they want to be unemployed, the central hub of cupid stunts shouting at
each other in soar operas and selective editing of real issues when the subject makes them look
foolish, if the bbc was a war figure it would be the guy who kills gays for being homosexual and
then goes home and dresses up in stockings and gets the man servant to roger his ass.


i hate uktv, it sucks, dark dank depressing, always a sad tale of someone falling victim of evil,
shown in the most quiet of sunday's style, this country bores me rigid, it's the stiffest place on
earth, they should rename it starchland, the grey place everyone hates.

so is this show any good?

yeah, i don't know why all the hating on this show, but for those who actually want to know
if it's any good
i say yes!
i think it's very funny and that has nothing to do with the sexual orientation of the main character but
rather that she's a very funny actress. if you like sue perkins you'll like this show and if you don't know
who sue perkins is (like me although i swear she seems so familiar maybe it's just that she a funny
british lady with short hair) you should still get some good laughs if this is your type of humor.

the main character, who is a veterinarian, needs to get a cat cremated off site so she has this
dead cat wrapped up in a trash bag with duct tape in her hand bag all day. if you think that sounds
funny (it is trust me i can't describe it that well)

you should give this show a go.

ok fair dues, but now you can see why it's a bug up my backside,

i am from the uk so i am entitled to highlight how bad things have become here,

the uk media is saturated by the wrong sort of gay person and it's jobs for the boys unlimited now,
look at torchwood, fantastic show, one i wanted to let my kid watch as the kid is dr who mad and
they had to shove two men snogging into the storyline, and from there on in it just got worse and
became a vehicle for gay promotion, a really sad thing in my eyes as i really like barrowman, i find
him a pretty nice fella overall,

so basically it's not so much the show i am attacking, it's the blatant positioning by certain
people, it's in our government and councils as well and both are totally inept when it comes to
doing what needs doing and like i said in the other post they make a mess and walk away without a
care about the carnage they've caused,

as i'm now what is known in the uk as last in the queue due to my sex,status and colour i think it's
about time to push back a bit and demand my rights be re-instated,

oh and just so you know all about the uk read these articles, you couldn't make it up it's
disgusting and someone should be put up against a wall for it,

this one is a real sickener, we have immigrants galore getting free houses and cash each week that
you simply can't get a job that would pay that much yet a man who had he and others not done what
they did in 1940 there would be no uk anymore, the raf basically stopped hitler knocking out our

so next time anyone feels that i'm the bad guy, have a look at yourself and see if you really like

would you object to your son watching a man kiss a woman in a tv show?
please stop denigrating gay people as though they are inferior, or have a mental defect
(your quote: "somewhere in their head there is a cylinder misfiring" ). gay people deserve the same
respect and place in society (including tv and film) as their heterosexual counterparts. you are welcome
to your discriminatory fearful outdated views in private or perhaps on other sites...but you need to stop
doing it here. you and i went through this the other day...this is not the place for your hatred. and
please dont bother to reply with a false patronising comment about how you have a friend that is gay
(like you did the other day), or that you don't have anythign against them...when clearly you do... it's

i just noticed you threw in that i have gay friends like someone being accused of racism would say i
have black friends, priceless gagging order when no other answer can be summoned.

there is this wonderful hamburger joint down the street that serves the best hamburgers, and
my son loves hamburgers, but the other day i saw blacks sitting at tables, in the same room, just a

you repeatedly speak about them the way you do about gay poeple, that is called bashing.

why all the fuss about a show that is shit?

seriously, what happened to the british? they used to crack out fantastic comedies like *that* (snaps
fingers), but lately they don't seem to get beyond creating stuff that hardly causes a slight chuckle. i mean,
the spa? cuckoo? the terrible "show" that is mrs. brown boys? blandings? and now this one, where the
main selling
point is the lead character being a closeted lesbian.

i know the crisis hit the uk pretty hard, but get you damn act together you limeys!

correct, in history we made shows like only fools & horses, minder, on the buses, etc and they were
great shows, we had the sweeney, the professionals and comics like billy connolly,mike reed tommy
cooper etc, all this came from an era of creative people who could put together good shows, now it's
comics that can only get a laugh by swearing, every uk drama is set in a quiet country setting where
the fastest thing on screen is the horsefly that flew by while filming, it's all done in that pre
electricity style of filming where everyone drinks tea and goes to church and looks like they have
liver trouble, from what was a great country it's now reduced to all sorts of things i simply don't
like around me, i guess that makes me a whinging pomme and i accept that, but there is a good reason
you aussies nicked us that and a good reason why all that leave feel the need to have a good moan
about the uk, it's no coincidence that more people leave the uk per annum than arrive each year,
personally i'm hoping i come back as a polynesian islander next time who simply wears a grass skirt
and goes fishing and shagging every day.

@ boones, no point me answering you, you have cussed me about things i didn't even write in your
last reply, so this will be the last of it from me unless yezzmann replies again.

show _is_ actually kind of bad.

i don't like british shows in general, especially the supposedly "humorous" ones, and i haven't laughed
at a british comedy since fry and laurie. there are really good exceptions like luther, black mirror and
maybe misfits, but they are exactly that - exceptions.

still, i try not to be prejudiced and give most new shows a fair chance - and british comedies of recent
years proved to be really cookie-cuttered despite some really great setups. they all happen in virtually
same places, with virtually same people who are stupidly genre-blind and produce some really awkward
and contrived dialogue and situations. that might have worked a first few times as a sort of "different"
humor, but except for a fake sense of british humor being "not for everybody" and, by implication,
superior that didn't do shit.

nevertheless, the premise of a woman being chronically ashamed of everything she is (and being a
lesbian is only a part of that) seemed like an interesting concept and outlined a character development
path i would be interested in.
but for some reason it quickly fell into awkward slapstick about dead cats, intercoms being left on,
overheard evil plans from a bathroom stall and other similar shit about "wronged loveable loser".

just like "threesome" took a chance to be a pioneer in tackling the issues of polyamorousopen
relationships and totally blew it to be another shitty story about a manchild in a different-aged setting
where nobody seems to mind that he is 2x the age, "heading out" quickly dropped the initial concept for
the sake of shitty situational humor i've seen numerous times in previous series of the same kind - all
the "dead boss"es, "todd margaret"s and so on.

pity.
