why is japan always displayed with such wrong conceptions?
the japanese don't bow, especially between family. the thai people do this. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/thai_greeting
the japanese do bow when sincerely thank, apologize to, see off others, but not with their hands
held together. they do so only when they pray in front of late persons at funeral, their ancestors
at graveyard or at temples/shrines.
it's so annoying when abroad, those ignorant people greet the japanese with such wrong manner.
and the japanese do not respect honor the most anymore. they do not work extra hours either. some
do, but not all of them.
basically the image of japan in the episode is mixture of china, thailand, japan in early modern
period, and a little bit of japan in 1960-70s.
well, i guess portions of this ep isnt
going to be airing in germany
lmao
you have an odd view of germany if you actually believe that.
images, videos, etc relating to nazis are heavily censored in germany and in some cases illegal.
the movie they are referencing in that segment ( "downfall" ) is a german production, so obviously it is ok
to show that. there is no law in germany against displaying symbols of nazism in movies, for education (or
in the privacy of your own home). you cannot display or disseminate them for propaganda purposes, but i
doubt anyone would mistake the cleveland show as neonazi propaganda.
im with iscalio on this
im dutch and live 3km from the german border and no censorship is used in germany about nazies.
actually nazism, populism is stil mutch alive especially in eastern part of the country put the
propaganda is partially illegal
only thing the german's wil do to this episode is giving every character a german voice
the idea of stereotyping a country is not unique to japan, it happens to pretty much everyone.
sweden(where i'm from) is often shown in american movies as a land where all girls are blond, blue eyed,
and named inga... nothing could be further from the truth.
like most european country's, probably less than half of the people are blond.
and the name inga is a typical grand-mother name now, no doubt it lives on from the old korean war
where it was a common name for allot of nurses (you see this allot in m.a.s.h).
silly old stereotypes like this get stuck in peoples head for some reason.
