its a good a family cop drama, one of the better ones around. so happy news to
us...
ditto.
it's not fair for people to dismiss it as merely a cop show. it's a family drama like parenthood,
where everyone works in law enforcement. lifetime tried to do the same with against the wall, but
made the mistake of focusing mostly on one family member. even with tom selleck as the potential
star, blue bloods is an ensemble show about an extended family. that's really what makes it special.
i have retirement age family members (65+) whose current favorite show is blue bloods, but 5 years
ago it was 7th heaven. long ago their favorite was little house on the prairie, and even earlier
the waltons (which /their/ parents enjoyed with them). i found 7th heaven too treacly and those
others are before my time, but blue bloods is something we can all enjoy. i liked wahlberg when he
played practically the same role on the underappreciated boomtown and they like the four generations
gathering at the grandfather's house for sunday dinner after church.
