i liked it... a lot.
kevin bacon's character is terribly scarred [literally] by the evil leader of what i'm sure will
develop into a cult of serial killers. for example, i was suspicious of the
⚠ SPOILER ALERT - (Click to reveal)
nanny
from the get-go.
i'll be seeding overnight, at least 4x. i'd do more if someone gave me direction on leasing a seedbox.

yeah, after 1 ep, it doesn't feel like a typical cop-series. bacon seems to be de-frocked fbi and
much of the show could be about his attempt at personal recovery from prior experience with the cult
leader [brilliantly evil james purfoy who played marc antony in the "rome" series]. i foresee
complicated development as the writers peel back the onion layers of the
⚠ SPOILER ALERT - (Click to reveal)
web-connected cult
that purfoy remotely controls.

thanks 7.57x. sure wish somebody would pm me with their seedbox and tracker experience.

didn't give this much hope after reading the synapse, felt like it was going to be a "killer of the
week" procedural cop shows. you know the type of show the bad guy (purfoy) lets a serial killer
loose and the flawed but basically misunderstood good guy (bacon) catches them in around 42 mins
(not including ads)

but glad i gave ep1 a go

nice running theme with the cult aspect and the "they might not get 'all' the bad guys at the end of
every episode".

will definitely keep watching (hope it's not canned after 12 episodes!)

the following premiered worse than alcatraz (and we know what happened to that) - 10.38 million,if it fails
to hold it's audience ,it will probably get cancelled.

anyway,i was not much impressed with the pilot episode, this is a re-hashing of various genres/tv
shows/movies that one has seen countless times.as a reviewer pointed out elsewhere - this is network
television's witless answer to gritty cable dramas.

another thing i did not like was the edgar allen poe tie-in is not only cliche but thoroughly overdone, the
pilot drops poe quotes at every opportunity ,also, the show opens with a marilyn manson song, for fuk's
sake, couldn't they find any decent music ?

kevin bacon was good and so was james purefoy, who i wished had joined games of thrones for season 3.

anyway, going to give this another 3 episodes before deciding to call it quits.

i agree.. the entire concept of this series lies with
⚠ SPOILER ALERT - (Click to reveal)
one serial killer controlling a vast network of disciples from his prison cell..

the events that unfold requires you to suspend any and all confidence you might have in any
dept of law enforcement, because
⚠ SPOILER ALERT - (Click to reveal)
he punks the fbi, the us marshalls, local law enforcement and not only punks them but has
them killed at his leisure.. so, it's called "the following" because every week we are gonna get
introduced to new disciples that are killing for him...

i just can't surrender that much to a story line.. sorry

i like it. though i would say it is not graphic enough for me. if it is on showtime of hbo, it can have a
wider range of graphic violence. since it is on network tv, ...........

i have read on another site that loads of people thought this was really gory!! it wasn't at all.

i sorta liked the pilot but it didn't really leave me wanting more. i'll prob give the 2nd ep a watch then
decide if i should carry on watching it or not

genius serial killer with cult following sounded ok but found it to be unrealistic and boring with little real
action and made for the disney crowd.

aye, reminds of old movies. quite decent, but nothing that special unfortunately.
