i just watched this, and this was worthless garbage. stephen fry talks about how 100% wonderful
technology is and how it will solve all our problems and do all the thinking for us. he goes to some
gym and raves about the treadmills and boxing machines that are going to improve our health... and
drain our wallets. everything after this segment features completely unexciting examples of
technology (if you want to call them that.)
he goes to some quack bimbo with no degree, no expertise, no knowledge, and exceeding levels of
inferiority complex, to have his nose straightened with a vibrating plastic contraption, uncovers
his own fat disgusting belly to get a weight-loss "treatment" done, and straps an elastic rubber
band over his face to remove his wrinkles. the brainless bimbo administering these quack procedures
keeps referring to everything as a "treatment." must have been the word her pseudo-scientific
charlatan trainers drilled into her empty head. she had a nice ass, but nothing else about her was
appealing physically or mentally.
at the end of this time-wasting show fry has a short straight race with an olympic uk track
athlete... the athlete on foot, fry on a treadmill equipped with wheels. this really had nothing to
do with technology or anything practical to human lives... but then again, this entire episode was
like that. it was just idiotic filler, attempting to be entertaining.
barely anything was learned during this show; much time wasted.
the entire episode could be titled: vanity and consumerism: how to achieve both simultaneously
the entire show was trying to convince viewers of how we should depend upon technology, software,
games (dancing games on ps3 or xbox), machines, devices, and special expensive creams and magical
healing "treatment" devices to look good and be healthy. bollocks. this episode was nothing more than
sheepish and mindless vain consumer obedience.
stephen fry, you have let me down intellectually... and frankly, entertainment-wise.
my respect for him dropped a bit.
