what is the difference between 2hd and asap releases?

nothing really... 2hd was out first so it's considered the "winner" and asap is a dupe. though if
there's something wrong with the asap release you won't know because it's already been nuked for
another reason.

asap release contains 10 seconds of "justified" teaser, so it's nuked. 2hd is the proper one.

the typical 30 minute us tv-show without commercials is approximately 21 minutes
the typical 60 minute us tv-show without commercials is approximately 42 minutes
the typical 90 minute us tv-show without commercials is approximately 60 minutes
the typical 120 minute us tv-show without commercials is approximately 81 minutes

the short version...

evolve, 2hd, lol, asap, fov, dimension, ftp, evolve, immerse, etc., are all names of scene
release groups who hold races to see who can cap (capture) a show and post it to their network
the fastest. so, the difference between the two is the scene group's name.

typically there will be only one sd (standard definition) and/or one 720p scene release.
if more than one scene group posts within seconds of eachother then the latter is nuked as a dupe
(duplicate) and should not be distributed, but some torrent groups will distribute anything and
everything available.

sons.of.anarchy.s05e10.hdtv.x264-2hd <--- winner
sons.of.anarchy.s05e10.hdtv.x264-asap <-- approx. 10 seconds later & nuked for being a duplicate.

torrent file titles/names (directory naming) consist of.... show title, season#, episode#, sometimes an
episode title, source (usually hdtv), codec (usually x264), and the scene group name. most scene
releases are leaked to torrent groups who then make torrents and distrubute them...often adding their
name to the end of the file. examples, eztv, vtv. ettv, tvteam, publichd, etc.

close, but incorrect.

sons.of.anarchy.s05e10.hdtv.x264-asap was nuked "dupe.2hd.2012-11-14" (duplicate).
2hd had already released sons.of.anarchy.s05e10.hdtv.x264-2hd, 10 seconds before asap.
it may, or may not, also contain extra promo footage, i don't know i didn't watch it, but that's not the
official reason for the nuke. (update november 15, 2012: yup, it also has the promo footage)

you may be refering to...
sons.of.anarchy.s05e10.720p.hdtv.x264-immerse
nuked: contains.promo.51m22s.to.51m32s_get.evolve.proper

you are half right / half wrong

this week 5x10 -- nov 13, 2012 -- crucifixed -- was 90 tv minutes (60 without commercials)
next week 5x11 -- nov 20, 2012 -- to thine own self -- is also 90 tv minutes (60 without commercials)

may i suggest researching before commenting...
