what you're looking for, non-scene, files converted to xvid/avi, can be found on dozens of torrent
search site that distribute torrents (regardles of quality and regardless if the files are real or fake) and
are made by anyone and everyone.
on usenet, for this particular episode there is in fact an xvid .avi file, it is fine, doesn't
appear faked and is slightly different from this .mp4 version. same for so far all eps of glee this
season.
the high-sounding "standards" be damned. some shows are sloppier than ever making it all hypocritical.
i think what is driving this is that there are some .mp4 conversions that have too-good-to-be-true
extra-short file lengths. it's not just a standards kind of thing, it's that some are trying "too
hard" to just get to prove they were "right" but in fact it's really a matter of downgrading the
quality in favor of a format that might be acceptable were this nonsense not happening.
thus, there is a legitimate push-back. if they want to sound so holier than thou, go back and
invalidate the files that are actually crappier, yet superficially seem to confirm this was a good
idea. it's not given the particulars.
please also notice that there are those who now cannot use certain devices that cannot play the new
format, but can play the old. of course compatibility never crossed their minds, after all, isn't
it more important to tell each other what "great planners" we are?
