i have noticed lately alot of shows downloaded in the format. it is very frustrating to get ready to watch a
show and then cant because its unwatchable.

this show is watchable. there is nothing wrong with this file.

it would be helpful to know what you are playing these files on...pc, what operating system, what video
player, or stand alone player, brand, model, etc.

720p and/or files over 1 gb will be in the .mkv file format.
shows without 720p in the title are sd (standard definition) x264 with the .mp4 file format.
know what you are downloading before you download and you will save yourself some frustration.

if you are using a pc, i recommned using the vlc player

no problem on my end. i right click the file and "send to tv" stream it from my pc to my samsung tv
(update your tv is a good idea to get extra features) takes a minute to load but runs perfectly

i was a big vlc fan, but lately i have been having different, minor problems. i am currently using wmp with
k-lite codec pack (mega & 64bit).

seems to be just as smooth...

but yes, mkv is the format of choice for high definition files...
