it should be noted that the tla version has inconsistent audio levels. no dialogue is lost...at
least as far as i watched, but audio levels peak and dip often enough to be irritating (if that kind
of thing does indeed irritate you).
the oan version has decent sound, but the video quality is rather lacking.
i haven't tried the avi or any other non hd versions yet.
yeah, the scheduling for doctor who has been pretty annoying these last few seasons. 5 episodes and
then a break until christmas? come on. go back to doing a whole season with the christmas special
in between.
⚠ SPOILER ALERT - (Click to reveal)
anyway, am i the only one who thought that amy and rory's departure was kind of abrupt and
not all that satisfying? we don't even get to see anything of their lives in the past, rory's father
apparently wasn't informed of his son's disappearance... just *poof* and they're gone.

yeah it is made with bbc america now so that means it uses the american style of programming instead
of the british. that means a lot of gaps for commercial reasons instead of a straight run.

theyve been building towards it for the last two episodes, showing them starting to prefer a life
outside the tardis while aging more rapidly. zapped back in time 30 or 40 years whose to say they
couldnt see rorys dad again, the thing preventing the doctor seeing them is the heavily twisted
timelines.

sort of.
⚠ SPOILER ALERT - (Click to reveal)
but then, what did we already have? we have rose hopping around universes. we have martha
back on earth, associated with unit. we have donna back on earth, with her memory wiped.
now, they apparently wanted to make a real break, making it impossible for the doctor to go back to
them. which means it's not going to be a simple "ok, that was my last visit".
rose already has the part of "getting dumped where no tardis will go". donna has the part of
"getting killed if he shows up". what else is there --- maybe make them really pissed at each other,
and have that last "forever"? sure, they could have just killed them, that always works, and
eventually it's bound to happen to some companion. but not this time, apparently.
also, "that's life". while the amy&rory departure may not be a tale to tell across the galaxies,
it's something that happened because sometimes the doctor just can't prevent it. usually it hits
some characters that have only been created for that to happen, but fate doesn't really care about
such details.
also, just because the doctor (and river, probably) can't meet them doesn't mean they can't be
active in some form. we don't know how they spent their time, we just know they died of old age
(most likely, anyway, given the ages on the gravestone).

if you play the first release on your pc, with vlc, or similar player, you may or may not experience
any audio issues, and might not need to download the proper.
i'm hoping the proper will also resolve the issue some of you were experienceing on stand alone
players. perhaps someone will comment after downloading the proper.
