Last Resort 1x01 (HDTV-x264-ASAP)

easily the best drama pilot of the season, so far. watch it. seriously, watch it.

this fall season lineup is so bad that last resort has been unanimously considered the best pilot. although
the idea is great, this pilot is a poor execution in my opinion. don't expect something like crimson tide or
the hunt for the red october. some dialog are pretty lame and some characters should be in desperate
housewives instead of a nuclear submarine. it can be entertaining tho, if you don't pay much attention to
detail.

i will still give it a chance, because there is nothing better to watch and i love military drama, specially
involving submarines.

i am not really sure about last resort yet, i will give it a couple of more episodes before i make my final
decision. some of it interested me, but there was enough that makes me cringe and not want to watch.

honestly better than i thought it would be. not quite sure how it'll turn out as a show but it's one of the
first pilots this year that i actually found entertaining. worth checking out if you're on the fence about it.

well, it's not really a military show,it's a mix of action/drama/mystery,now "band of brothers" was a real
military show.

seriously? a captain of a nuclear submarine takes over a nato missile monitoring station, declares
independence from us and launches nukes against it. if that isn't a military show, i don't know what it is.

of course it is a action/drama/mystery and not a comedy, but it is also a military show.

meh! it was alright the acting in it is awful though i thought. i will watch the next ep but don't hold high
hopes for this series

military shows are about military personnel and affairs, either involving historical or fictional events.
they can be dramas like band of brothers, comedies like m*a*s*h, mysteries like homeland, thrillers
like the unit and so on. band of brothers is categorized on imdb as action | adventure | drama while
last resort is categorized as action | drama | mystery. both are military shows, with distinct themes.

i enjoyed it, mainly because i've been a fan of the actor who plays the captain since men of a
certain age.

how long could it possibly run for though? the president gets on the phone to the sub, squares
everthing with the captain and once they get proper confirmed orders from the prez himself they all
live happily ever after the end.

unless i guess, there's some sort of coup going on in the us and the president isn't in a position
to be making phone calls, handing out orders and generally ruling. in which case this turns into
some shitty little invasion story where we're supposed to sympathise with the invaders in their
fight against the ciminal/animal natives.
