from above mentioned webpage:

"star trek: beyond the final frontier summary

for forty years star trek has engrossed our imaginations and sent us on
voyages across the galaxy. through ten films and five series this
entertainment juggernaut has become a pop culture icon and a window to our
society. we will look at the impact that star trek has had on fans around the
world. from the conventions in europe and las vegas to the billionaire
collector who scours the world for memorabilia, we will try to find out just
what it is about this supposedly 'silly' series that has meant so much to so
many. leonard nimoy hosts."

sounds a lot like both 'trekkies' documentaries...

just watched it.
it's written around the christies star trek memorabilia auction.
http://www.christies.com/special_sites/startrek/overview.asp
features interviews with many cast members: uhura, sulu, picard, riker, troy,
janeway, sisko, quark.
also many of the production team: braga, berman, okuda etc.
some convention footage.
nicely edited with video bites from the series to "comment" on the auction
prices etc.
ends on a hint that star trek will be back in the future.

the scale model of the enterprise d went for a staggering $500,000

erm ... what "trekkies" documentaries?

and, both eztv and tv rage list this as s1 e1 -- is there to be more?

look on imdb there is a documentary literally called "trekkies".

to answer the question above, it's misleading to call this "s1 e1" since it's a
one-off history channel special, not a series. this is it.

i think there are only 2 of these episodes so far.. the first one shows how
star trek has influenced technology today and the second episode is the one
about the auction.. there is a link for the first one on eztv - look for
modern.marvels.star.trek.tech.ws.dsr.xvid-2sd.avi from 2/19..

heres a link to the show from the history channel..

just want to say that it say s1 e1 because their is no official funtion on
tvrage to classify one time specials. but that dosnt really matter. tvrage is
still number 1

sorry to go on a 3 consecutive post bid but.. i know this from experience on
that site. if you go to add a new episode it asks you if its one time special.
to click on a check box. if one clicks on that check box it automatically
creates a show guide for that episode excluding the features "episode list" and
"episode guide" which can bee seen on the first link provided.

i know they didn't intentionally make it s01 e01. this is truly a one time
special. that being in mind i have fixed the problem on the site. sorry for the
confusion. i still believe tvrage has a major advantage to tv.com and some
others. the administrators over their are trying their best to create a better
interface.

sorry for this long dumb post and for the trifecta to.

thanks.
