Survivor S25E01 PROPER HDTV x264-2HD

i have a request-- when posting a "proper", could eztv make a note here as to why the proper was
needed? it would help us decide whether it's worth it to dl the proper, if we dl'd the original release.

does anyone know why this one was needed?

in this case, the lmao release is missing the very last bit, where the person voted out talks to the camera. this amounts to
about 10 seconds and is not important, so it's not worth a dl.

i expected the proper was going to be for the size: there's no way an hdtv x264 vid that's about an hour (not counting
commercials) should be anywhere near 800mb.

as for size, the proper is 803 mb, so... pretty much rules that out.

if they cut off the very end on the original one, then it makes sense they'd release a proper.
although i agree with you, it's not worth my re-downloading it.

@r0nin -- torrents are added to eztv through automated processes. automatically adding a note to a
nuked torrent, or the successor torrent, is not going to happen (imo). it is up to us. generally, if i'm
not sleeping or away when a proper is posted, i will do the research and post the information that i
find. btw, i have no special connections for reearching the information, it is available to everyone...i
just happen to take the time to find it and share it 🙂 ...which i enjoy doing, most of the time.

re: file size

file size is no longer the focus and is no longer set/fixed at 350 mb for a 42 min show, using xvid/avi.
the focus is on quality...using x264/mp4 (or mkv) and a specific crf setting (crf constant rate
factor). in most cases the resulting file size is quite a bit smaller than the previouisly used xvid/avi 350
mb standard, but not always.

file size is tied to the complexity of the source material (i.e. still vs. moving, grainy vs solid, number of
colors, etc.), and how much compression can be applied to any given frame and still maintain the fixed
quality setting (crf).
