so why are notv only doing 1-pass encoding? is there a huge rush amongst the
groups to get the release out first. i'm sure everyone would wait a couple of
hours to ensure that we get a high quality file that won't be nuked after it
appears. it's come to the point where when i see a new release the chances
are not insignificant that it will be nuked and a "proper" release made, in
fact of all the 3500ish released available on eztv 3.91% are proper releases.
edit: of course, this is not a criticism of eztv, they're not responsible for
all the scene releases.

well whenever i see the first or second post on a eztv thread for a 350mb release is

i'm sure it gets to them. they want to be the first ones out with a good product, and it is a competitive
race... i'm sure there are groups out there that want to get posted on eztv but are just slower compared to
elsewhere.

necessarily be a rule that *noticeably* affects the quality of the episode.
