released more than 10 hours ago.
not nuked by the scene (yet).
more than 4000 completed download.
i downloaded it just to check, and... audio and video play correctly without error.
@bellaciao & dcendf, whatever issues you are experiencing appear to be on your end and not with the
torrent file or the downloaded movie file. check your video player settings and codecs.
the tla versions of files always have trouble with audio files on most players because they use an
uncommon audio codec. video will be fine but no audio in most players. will play fine in vlc etc on
computer with latest codecs so boonesferry is correct that the file is not faulty. won't play on my
astone media player and most other players though.
yep the audio is this file blows. i have been using eztv for as long as i can remember and have never had
and audio problem even when i had do my one convert from avi to mp4 so i can get them to play on an
appletv audio always worked this is now the 2nd show that i have download from eztv this week that has
had an audio issue an updated download called proper appeared a few days later for my previous one
hope the same can be said for the firm. despite this minor hiccup love the site keep up the awesome work
as said above, this release is not faulty but merely encoded in an unusual way. the right software and
codecs ought to play it just fine.
however, the scene rules do not actually give the encoders the latitude to make such a choice for
themselves. consequently, none of tla's current batch of releases are genuinely valid, regardless of
the fact that only a few of them have been nuked (so far). yuck.
audio: allowed audio formats are vbr aac lc (low complexity).
the detailed terminology for the parts of these specs are, i believe, that aac is the coding scheme, lc the coding profile, vbr the coding method.
using a profiling tool such as mediainfo (http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net) , one can see that tla
releases, unlike those by other groups, do not employ the lc profile. the tool doesn't seem able to
identify which other profile they are using instead - but a recent nukemsg
(http://orlydb.com/1?q=saving+hope+s01e02+-720p) designates it "ltp" (long term prediction).
presumably, tla are either unaware of or simply ignoring this issue, and those who have nuke
privileges similarly are unaware of or simply ignoring the issue's persistence.
thank you, kassy, i always appreciate your comments...i find them refreshing.
you do the research and share the results. who could ask for anything more 🙂.
had the same problem with 21. played fine on vlc but not on my wd media player. i just
downloaded the 720 file instead: http://kat.ph/the-firm-s01e21-720p-hdtv-x264-2hd-mkv-
t6454821.html. it's fine, and the only one that is. the only other one has french hardcoded subs.
now where is 22? please don't let us not be able to complete this season. since the a-holes
wouldn't renew it...one of the best shows on tv. i can find it googling, but all the files make
you jump thru hoops...passwords, etc.

i had a problem with playing this file on gom player, wich i personally prefer to vlc. (gom player
played every kind of video format i ever downloaded, never had any problems, untill now)
the episode would start like it was "on pause". i could move to different time frames by dragging the
play-progress "button" back and forth, but it would just show me a still picture of wherever i stopped
and that's it.
i downloaded vlc and watched the episode from the first try without any problems! 🙂 even though i
will still be using gom for most of my videos, i guess it doesn't hurt to have a backup just for situations
like this one!
