weeds has one glaring flaw:
it is set in the real world and yet most of its plots are unrealistic from a socio-economic perspective, if it
overcame that while preserving its colorful characters and plots , its viewership would increase.

in a way i will be sad to see it go because at least as far as i know its a show that created its own sub-
genere of crazy over the top plot-lines and characters in a dark dramedy..
which i'm sure is what inspired shows like shameless that are more appealing now due to dealing with lower
class as opposed to weed's middle-class that is no longer revelant because now most of the world is
composed of either upper-class or low-class

i'm also sure the well established and eccentric characters will be missed by many and while it isn't exactly
some cult sci-fi series people geek over, its a show people talk about so i wouldn't be surprised if the fans
won't let it go so easily.

finally i'm curious what jenji kohan comes up with next

yeah sad to see it go. but it has been getting worse, still good, but worse. hopefully it is a good
ending and hopefully this makes room for a new showtime show of the same caliber.

eh, it jumped the shark when they left agrestic. season 7 was a real struggle/chore, (and had an ok
ending) i won't even bother with 8.

thank you assman.

love this show.
however, the way it's progressed the last coupld of seasons, i agree that it's time to wrap it up.
"weeds" will forever be on my list of favorite tv shows.

"tv fans love nothing better than to complain about how shows end...."

lol maybe if networks stopped bloody cancelling good shows tv fans wouldn't complain so much! we
don't do it for the good of our health. good to see that they're willing to give due care to how
they finish weeds, it has been a great show.

yes, shows inspired by weeds would be eg breaking bad and hung. shameless is way older.

i think that it started to go wrong a few seasons ago when everything got too big... single mom
trying to provide for her family was the basic theme and that really got lost somewhere along the
way! it is possible to sell and even grow weed without having to get involved with gangs, cartels
and the dea!

back to the suburbs sounds like a step in the right direction and i'm hoping for a nice conclusion.
letting shows run until they stagnate and die on their own is not a good solution...

movie critic: in what way is the show "unrealistic in socio-economic ways"? the economics of the
"drugs-game" are vastly different from most other businesses. customer base is absolutely staggering
and there are no taxes, money is ridiculously abundant to put it nicely... ;-) laundering money as
they do in the show is quite easy as well. getting caught up with gangs and other bs might be more
of a risk in the us, but most of those retards are just silly little boys with very high thought
about themselves but with no real connection or even consciousness about the larger world outside of
their own "turf". they can easily be dealt with. i know these things as i have been there myself.
awaiting a 4 month prison sentence (which will be served out entirely with an ankle-bracelet) for
growing weed. (gotta love sweden ;-) ). i got busted because i fucked up badly myself in a totally
unrelated situation. very unnecessary.
