i notice on lots of torrent sites (including ours lately) that on popular
torrents people are increasingly asking for passwords to open files, and on
other shows occasionally calling them nuked when they are fine.

i do wonder weather these people perhaps are "agents of order" (vs us the agents
of chaos) trying to spread mis-information to perhaps discourage people
downloading the shows. perhaps we should think about a system that treats nuke
information only as reliable if a link could show the source of the information.

anyway let me know what you guys think of my ramblings. why would people come
here to post password questions when (if legit) they got thier torrents from
another source...?

feel free to call me an insensitive prat.

the #@$@$ with them!
eztv is the bomb!

our community here has always been safe always will be!

ignore them!

i wonder if we can have a filter on posts, that searches for any of those words
"password" "trojan" or something

if they are gonna come here and bug us, lets at least make them put a little
effort into it >=p

the "password posters" are most likely people working for "the
man" attempting
to confuse inexperienced torrent users. personally, i think those people should
be banned.

or they are people that simply downloaded what they thought was an "eztv" link
from mininova and got themselves a fake file.

that said, safest way is to get the torrent files directly from the links here
and not
go elsewhere 🙂

you gotta think outside the box.

fake torrents also have the links to eztv....i've seen them on mininova, and
not downloaded them as the original .torrent files weren't upped by the
user "eztv" or could it be plain stupidity with people just downloading the
wrong content?
who knows. i haven't been stung with a fake torrent yet - but then again i
wouldn't be considered "inexperienced"

i download a buncha torrents from this site all the time and i've never been
prompted for a password. i can't recall getting a compressed file off of eztv
either. certainly a minor problem at other sites, but i've never seen it here.
which show episodes are you referring to? i'd just like to take a look.

i have seen fake torr. on mininova that have eztv in the title, but they are not
eztv.
and there is probably some interference in our forum from you know who.

tell em to go blow a dog.

none of the passworded torrents actually came from here. there are jerks out
there, though, who post torrents on mininova with [eztv] tags & links to eztv in
the description. i don't know why. i guess they just like being dicks.

if i had to wager a guess, i'd say these people asking for pws are newbs who
just download the 1st torrent for a show that they find on mininova. when they
go to watch it, they probably don't remember which torrent they downloaded, so
they just go to any old tv torrent forum they can find & ask for help. i
wouldn't guess those people are from the mpaa or whatever. for one thing if
that were the case, i imagine there'd be a lot more of 'em.

do ya really think it's worth banning those people? i dunno, i don't mind just
telling 'em if it had a password on it, they didn't get it here & telling 'em to
just get it here from now on. i dunno, i was a newb once, too, & a lot of
patient people taught me some good info, so i don't mind paying it forward once
in a while...
