i called missing being canceled as soon as the commercials started broadcasting. it was the line
"i'm not a cia agent, i'm a mother looking for her child." or something along that line. it was so
full of cheese, i knew with that phrase alone it would be gone.
shame about the river, but it did have a proper ending, a rather bleak ending, but an ending none
the less.
terra nova, alcatraz and the river were all shows i was really into. but i read netflix might continue the
river and thought about terra nova as well but decided against it. bent and best friends forever were pretty
funny, bent more so of the two, but ill miss them both. and though i really enjoyed blue mountain state but
the last seasons finale was a really good so im not as upset about it being canceled.
the finder.
terra nova.
house.
fringe.
the river.
so.....fox is now just what? american idol and you think you got talent? gee i wonder why their
station is dying.....
quite a list! can't say any of them are real surprises. a lot of balls where thrown in the last year(s), and
only a few can be caught. others have just ran their course (house, eureka). don't think i will miss any of
them, but a few are a shame:
breaking in: i wanted this show to succeed. it had so much potential, and a even that rarest of things: a
second chance. sadly bret harrison is just a bad lead for any show (too plain, he doesn't have "it" ), and
the addition of megan mullally was a disaster (the jig is up "karen", you are not funny). wasted.
eureka: this show was always a guilty pleasure of mine, even if it had the simplest of plots and it is
basically the same story every week. it has run it's course.
best friends forever & man up!: i liked both of them. nothing ground breaking, but the cast was fun and
they made me smile. i would give them a chance over that train-wreck that is cougar town any day. i
wonder how much cox did she have to sux to get to tbs?
my "will miss" list:
awake
chuck (but its time really was up)
combat hospital
house (again, time was up)
terra nova (wasn't great, but so little sci-fi on air any more)
the sad thing about most show cancellations is the lack of any closure. awake was at least different and
interesting and will end unresolved no doubt.
alcatraz and eureka i will miss!
terra nova was pretty good.
chuck i got bored with 2 years ago.
the rest mostly were just awful from day 1, a few had potential, but production and chemistry just didnot
work...
chuck and house have had a good run and at least they knew the end was coming.
can't say i'm surprised alcatraz, awake, terra nova, etc. are ending. there was just nowhere to take
those shows. the audience is bored with this formula, only lost pulled off this trick with success.
trying to replicate lost's mystery formula is pointless.
shame about cougar town. even though it's being picked up by another network, that *usually* is a
sign that it won't last long.
shows that really should be given a chance are bent and hung (imo).
