wesley crusher (will wheaton) from star trek: next generation...
...nowhere near as bad of an actor as kevin blake (trevor jackson) is in eureka.
wesley was not great but i thought he was adorable in the role.
is kevin/trevor or his mom sleeping with one of the producers or something?
i understand that one of the reasons for a switch to x264 are that there is better quality in
smaller file sizes.
does anyone know why they are ending up as 400mb instead of 350mb?

most of the time, a one hour (42 minute without commercials) hdtv x264/mp4 tv show file will be
smaller than 350 mb, but not always.
the old xvid/avi scene rules focused on file size...to allow two, one hour, shows to fit on one standard
700 mb cd. now, with low cost of storage (dvd, hard-drives, etc.) and faster computer processor
speeds, the new x264/mp4 scene rules focus on quality over size.
with so many variables, there is no simple one line answer to your question. if you really want to know
why, you would need to learn about encoding, codecs, display resolutions, encode settings, bit-rates,
source complexity, crf (constant rate factor), scene release rules etc.
