.avi isn't universal at all, mp4 is much more universal and allows better resolutions in the same (or
smaller) file size. many streaming media players that are out now (such as roku) don't support avi... i

i had to use windows media player for the 1st time in years.. i really hope

i don't know why eztv doesn't know that april fools ends at midday on the 1st april but there you have it.

anyways, these are not lower quality. they are the same codec and bitrate as the mp4's we've been
getting since the move to x264 a while back. i'm not sure why people are saying they are lower quality
unless they're just making an assumption based on the file extension without even checking them. if this is
the case then they are clearly a bit special.

yes, its an april fools joke. just change the extension to .mp4 or .avi (whichever it normally is)
and it will work

april fool's joke is not funny, it's annoying. at what point will they change the file extensions
here back, because there will be plenty of people who won't grab files until later on and who will
be "wtf is this format about". normally, i'd embrace pranking, but this is just lame and irritating.

agree with the above. worst april fools joke ever. didn't rm (real media) format die out when the
dinosaur became extinct!!

and here they were trying to fool everyone into thing that they nobody owned a pc anymore and
everybody watched there movies on a tablet or mobile phone.

back to x264 mp4 we go! if you don't like it then tough! buy a new media player that does.
