i do want to know though, are other people having problems with corrupted pictures with these x264 files?
i'm using the latest vlc and the picture is unwatchable in some cases. this is becoming more and more
frequent too.

its just you, the x264 .mp4 files have perfect quality.............
try updating your codecs, i installed the newest k-lite codec pack and its playing perfectly (i had
sync problems before with the .mp4's)

thanks for the tip. i don't know why i would need to install k-lite codec pack when i am using vlc. it is
supposed to be using the latest codec automatically.
