can someone tell me why a lot of the eps are now being done in x264 (.mp4) instead of .avi ?

they are done both ways, but the mp4 is always released first because they want people to use it. but
since most people prefer avi a couple hours later there is always an avi somewhere.

know how to convert .mp4 to dvd which i usually do with .avi 🙂

will handle many many containers, including .mp4 .mkv .avi etc....
search any torrent site that has apps, you'll find it. :d

takes almost any file format (avi mov mp4 mkv divx wmv mpg flv rm etc), converts and burns to a
standard dvd for playing on any standard dvd player. on my 2ghz dual core pc it take about 30min to
convert and burn a 2 hour movie.
