it was great while it lasted! bows to the winner "rodpowermaster" and his not so sarcastic
sidekick "vor1000". leaves the stage to embark on a search for obsolete avis needed to quench the
appetite of his 10 year old dvd player. a shame, but c'est la vie.
1996 -- dvd movies
2001 -- xvid
2003 -- h.264 (x264)
2006 -- blu-ray
2012 -- "the scene" adopts h.264 (x264)
xvid vs. h264, old tech vs. new tech.
.wav vs. mp3. old tech vs. new tech.
older tech usually last about 10 years.
stop bitching and whining about xvid vs. h.264 (x264) and avi vs. mp4 and mkv.
you can't put your vhs tape in a dvd player or your 8-track audio cartridge in a cassette player. nor
can you put your 12" vinyl alubm in your cd player. time and technology change...get used to it.
grow up and realize that the world does not stop advancing just for you. spend $50 on a stand-alone
network/wifi/usb player for your tv. or take your free torrents, your free time, and free apps to
convert files to whatever format you choose. fyi: $50 divided by 10 years = $5 per year, or 42 cents
per month. with a $100 stand-alone product you're still only spending 83 cents per month. that's less
than a cup of coffee or a can of red bull.
eventually all scene releases, and most non-scene release, will be h.264/x264...until another new
tech comes along in ten years.

about the show
========================================
awake follows a man named detective michael britten (jason isaacs) who wakes up after a car
accident. he learns that his wife, who was in the car with him, died. he tries to put everything together
to find what is going on. however, after a few days, he finds that his wife is not dead, but that it was his
son who died. confused, michael goes back to work as a detective trying to put things normal again.
one moment he is talking to his wife about having another baby and then the next he is at a tennis
match talking to his son's coach about how his son is dealing with the loss. all this time, he is trying to
do the job he loves and thinking that he is going insane.
created by kyle killen (lone star), awake dives into a story about a man wanting to know what is real
and what is in his mind. the creativity of the show allows for the viewers to enjoy themselves and try to
help michael through his cases. it is a new age type of plot that turns a normal, sane man into
something that he never thought of happening to him ever.
it is a little frustrating to think that all the complainers will maybe get their way if no-one says
anything back at them!
you seem to think this is some kind of democracy....
we get what we are given.
we can't complain cause its provided to us free
to expect eztv to seed both (for free) is retarded
this website struggles at the best of times
if the scene decide that x264 is the future, then that's all there is to it.
no crying / complaining is going to change anything.
i would go as far as to bet that the moaners don't even help seed.
bunch of ingrates.

the change came too suddenly, and too soon. maybe if they had waited a year or two until most
players used mp4 there would not be this uproar. but 95% of stand alone players do not yet play mp4
(or this type of mp4,as i have new two old dvd player with the mp4 logo, and they won't play in it, either
with usb or burned dvd)
