they're just posting the first official scene rip. things are moving away from avi. if you wait they may
post an avi release later but ultimately avi releases are going to stop, it may take years or it may take
months, but they're a dying format, so even if some groups do continue to publish them they're always
going to come out after the mp4 releases.
avi's will die. the only reason to keep them is for people who have old hw that can't play mp4 files. avi
is the older standard and it doesn't have any advantage over mp4 besides from being supported by
older hw. the number of people with old hw is only going to decrease though. at best avis have a few
years left in them before all groups drop support. but either way mp4s will be getting more popular
from here on out.
many people (such as myself), download these fiiles and then play them thru a dvd player with usb
support...and that can play .avi files...as of now...any dvd players that have .mp4 support are few and
far between and are expencive...not everyone watches these shows on the puter......hence...i would
much prefer .avi file format.
.mp4 is a terrific format. this is honestly about time. higher quality at a lower file size. the only people
complaining are those with old hardware (by the way, games consoles such as the ps3 play .mp4) and
they can just buy a cheap cable to connect their computer to their screen. even .mp4 files that are 720p
are better than .mkv (which is a compatibility nightmare). this is the future, don't fight it.

mp4 sucks there is very little improvement in picture the file size is sometimes smaller but
sometimes it's larger then the avi's and the sound is out of sync more often, so why spend hundreds
of dollars on a game console to play crappy mp4s when the existing hardware plays the avi's flawlessly

i wouldn't fight it if what you said was actually true. however, this is now the 2nd file this week
that won't play on the xbox 360.
if they are going to switch to this format it needs to be a standard instead of this shit where
there's the odd file that just purely doesn't work on your hardware of choice.
i have a $65 lg bluray machine with a usb port that plays virtually every format you can think of
(avi, mpg, mp4, mkv, and a lot more). when shopping for my current player, i found 8 or 9 players
under $100 that all supported mp4, and about half of them had a usb port.
so in short, i call bullshit. you have this thing called the internet. you can search for things on
it. heck, i bet even the biggest dumbass can buy a mp4 compatible player under $100 and have it
delivered to your home.
but then there would be no reason to bitch on the internet about things you obviously haven't
researched, would there?
