burning to dvd +rw and playing on a dvd player that supports xvid. just one example.
older media players may not play mp4. you would need to transcode first to .h263 (xvid).

i also have a standalone divx dvd player that plays .avi's but not .mp4's. i was excited to find
eztv after rewindtv went away. eztv is the only place i know of where i can keep track of the shows
i watch. however, if eztv drops the avi format, i will have to leave here as well - it's not worth
my time to sift through the awesome amount of content eztv follows, to find the 2 or 3 hd shows i
actually do watch on my pc (mythbusters, how it's made, qi).


so if this is goodbye, thank you, eztv, for being my tv-show-torrent home for the last few years.
there was nothing better, in my opinion. i'll miss you.

hey 🙂 is the quality on mp4 files better then the quality on avi files?

no they are slower to download and most players will not play xvid and avi are the best

ok people i get that it is weird that the change came in the middle of the season
but for you dvd burning people why dont you use
convertxtodvd? that burns anything to your dvd and it is watchable like a normal dvd including menu
works on every player

yes the quality of the x264(mp4) versions is better than the divx(avi) and the size is
smaller!

i haven't noticed any change in download speed at all.
the less traffic that the site has the better, then i won't get an error message as much.

the scenes are not going to change their mind, no matter how much people complain. change is always
hard, adaption can be hard.

this use to be a good place but now it just sucks big hairy balls good bye to a sucky place

its 2012 let go of divx/xvid, if you got a dvd player not playing the format you like chuck it and get a
media box for $80 and stream your file to your tv , buy digital copies of movies instead of disks, dont fight
technology just ask questions and ride the wave. if you think the old technology is better than the new
technology, it means you dont understand the new tech enough.

download vlc-player or quicktime and stop wining!! and if you are so desperate to watch this on your tv,
buy a cable and connect your pc to your tv!! it's not that big of a deal!!
