http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0808096/

from imdb:
when strange anomalies in time start to appear all over england, professor
cutter and his team have to help track down and capture all sorts of dangerous
prehistoric creatures from earth's distant past.

i'm mildly curious, so i'm downloading it. not sure how much of a connection
this had to the film that came out last month, since nobody actually went to see it.

i watched it, not to bad, effects are ok. if you liked torchwood you should
like this.

from itv (http://www.itv.com/page.asp?partid=7251)

"a crack team of scientists headed up by world renowned evolutionary scientist
professor nick cutter (douglas henshall) are recruited by the government to
investigate a series of dinosaur sightings.

from a gorgonopsid rampaging through the local woods, to a swarm of megarachne
in the tunnels of the london underground, they find themselves doing the
monster mash with some seriously beastly opponents.

long extinct creatures are tearing through a series of rips in time, and as
the seemingly impossible becomes a terrifying reality, cutter and his research
assistant stephen hardy (james murray) struggle to find answers.

enlisting the help of zoologist, abby maitland (hannah spearritt ), and
student palaeontologist connor temple (andrew lee potts), the four work to
uncover the secrets of the temporal anomalies.

in doing so, it swiftly becomes clear that all traditional methods of research
have become extinct.

aided and abetted in equal measures by shadowy government officials sir james
lester (ben miller) and claudia brown (lucy brown), the team find themselves
heading into previously un-chartered territories.

as the past threatens to invade the present, and destroy the future, cutter's
crew face a life and death race against time.

as history roars off the pages of his books, cutter's own, intensely private
battle continues to rage. haunted by the disappearance of his wife, helen
(juliet aubrey) some eight years previous, he has never given up hope of
finding her alive.

as the prehistoric investigation intensifies, he begins to suspect that events
are somehow linked."

torchwood is bullocks. please tell me this is a thousand times
better than that. dinosaurs? little kiddy show. then again itv1
has been known to do some good work. why can't we just have land of
the lost remakes? i could laugh at a slow moving sleestack about now.

torchwood is bullocks.

yeah, because all american shows are always so great.

torchwood is a low budget spin off of doctor who, which itself is hardly a big
budget affair. you get what you pay for.

i could care less about the budget. it's not going to change horrendously bad
writing, or even worse acting.

actually, that's not true. if they could afford to hire decent writers and
actors, it might not be as shit as it is.

it's got nothing to do with whether it's from the uk or the us or mars. it's
because the show is shit. nothing more.

i didn't hold out much hope for a sc-fi show staring hannah from s-club 7, but i
was pleasantly surprised by this. the acting was ok, and the storyline allows
for almost limitless possibilities.

it does have similarities to doctor who and torchwood but the prehistoric twist
adds a new dimension. cant wait for t-rex to show up!

hopefully others will feel the same, so the viewing figures justify a bit more
home grown sci-fi on prime time tv!
