if you're going to applaud someone for their vocabulary skills and utilization i would hope you
would have yours down pat as well.

i do...

anyways, often spelled any ways, is a dialectal variant of any wise, 'in any way/manner', and as such
is recorded from the 16th century, in such august tomes as the 1611 king james bible and the 1560
book of common prayer: "all those who are any ways afflicted...in mind, body, or spirit." as an
adverb, its formation from any way by the addition of the genitive -s is perfectly regular: we got
always from alway in the same manner.
it is far more proper than your expression "down pat", wich is a poker reference to being able to pat
the table when you have a good hand and do not need to be dealt any more cards.
and just to put to rest any further argument. the english language, and communication in general, is
based off semantics. ie. if i refer to may car as a "duck", and then state "i'm going out to start my
duck", as long as you ascertain that im going out to start my car, the statement is correct. not
"proper" mind you, but correct none the less.
oh, by the way. what you are correcting me on is grammar, not vocabulary. which invalidates your
statement.

also "owned"... have fun with that one, but keep it to yourself.

aw, true typo. but again, it was spelling then not vocabulary. and how sad you really started this all
over an obvious typo?
