i do hope you go back to having .avi files.
i could always count on eztv to have .avi files.

i'm only downloading avi files. my computer is older and won't run this crap without a lot of
stuttering.

i'm really tired of this new trend. i suppose i'll just have to rely on tv torrents.

stop complaining, even if there are no .avi files for every show you can always just convert the
.mp4 or .mkv to .avi's. i mean seriously how hard is that?

as for the old computer comment: my computer is a 6 year old single core and runs everything just
fine, even the 720p versions, are you sure you don't just need to update your codecs, drivers etc.?

the .mp4 were out of sync for me before i installed the newest k-lite codec pack, but now everything
runs great! so you might want to try that.

i wonder if people complained so much when music went from cylinder to viny to 8 track, to cassette?
or when video and audio when from tape to cd or dvd, or to mp3 or wmv. hmm....

for the pc, vlc plalyer (free) comes with all the necessary codecs to play all file types.

for stand-alone players that use dvd, usb, or other mediums that play native divx or avi, yeah it
sucks a little, you're gonna have to convert your files (i like convertxtodvd - takes me 10min to
convert and burn a one hour show to dvd using a dual core 2.93 ghz 2g ram pc) or invest in even
newer stand-alone hardware players that play the newest file formats. ain't new tech wonderful ;-)

i'm interested in hearing what apps/tool or setups you guys are using to play multiple file formated
shows on your tv.

nahhh just old people complained back then when going from vinyl 2 8track.
now it's the people that have older systems or don't want 2 learn because their old systems do just
fine and they don't want a new one, or just don't want a new os.
so basically the complaining it the same.


i say,,, about time scene groups did something better then the clunky avi ,,,,, applause for you.


ohhh and i use gomplayer from gomlabs

it's not difficult to covert an mp4 to avi.

here are the steps to help:

1. go to google and type - mp4 converter to avi
2. select any of the free software and click download - for me i picked pazera free mp4 to avi
3. then you just have to install in on your computer
4. once done, select the mp4 file and start converting

my notebook is 5 years old and it took me total time of less than an hour to have this done.

true, its not difficult to convert mp4 to avi, just as its easy to convert mkv to avi

and if it was one or two files a day just a matter of doing it when nothing else to do.

but to convert everything? 6 standard size programs would take 5 hours

and that would be every day!

eztv doesn't control the file type.
eztv didn't cap this episode, lol did.
and lol have stated they are only doing x264 moving forward.
if the scene only releases .mp4 of an episode, that is all eztv can post
