i approve of the switch to mp4. since i watch it on my laptop anyway, not a stand alone player, it
makes no difference. and because of the smaller file size, maybe now i'll be able to fit those damn
13th episodes on the dvd. those things have screwed me far too many times.
i can't believe lol is this stupid that they don't see how unwelcome this change is, why release in
a format no one wants when you already have the ability to release the .avi's that are so popular
is everybody so stupid? does anyone kn ow what an avi format is?
it's just a damn nutshell, almost all the time with a video stream and a sound stream in sutable
format. generarly the avi files have mpeg video format inside.
@frio - instead of starting off with an insult you should try thinking for a second first.
there are plenty of people with older hardware like dvd players that simply will refuse to play mp4.
next to that mp4 often contains screwed up audio that will not play the l and r front channels
correct. .h264 is only supported on newer hardware. xvid +mp3 would be a little bigger, but is much
more compatible resulting in bigger swarms and faster downloads.
it sucks since there is no easy (i.e. fast) way to add srt's to mp4 without recoding the entire episode. with
the avi it was a matter of 50secs...and i could play the .divx on my ps3 including subs.
stop bitching about the mp4 switch, all of these is free.
if you don't paid for it you can't complain.
if you don't like mp4 files you have to options:
1) you can wait an buy the whole season on dvd or
2) you don't download it an shut the f.. up
i'm tired to read comment about the switch, if you don't like it don't download it or make your own
files.
if you're tired of reading them then stop reading them. simple as that. people have the right to voice their
opinion. yes it's free and we appreciate everyones hard work but that doesn't mean we can't voice our
opinion. i for one welcome this switch if it's going to mean smaller file sizes but same quality videos.
