Slad's Tracker situation

hi people,

i got this week a lot of messages about my trackers (all three announce url's
that eztv uses are tracked on my trackers) and i want to try to explain the
situation a bit so you understand...

first of all i will not answer on complaints and so on... i do my best to give a
free service with limited finances and i don't need to get critisized on that
... there is a donation button on the redirection page and all money that i get
from there is being spend on the servers that run the trackers... but i don't
receive much money from there so for the moment i spend my money to track for
you people...

originally we had 4 servers and 4 trackers when i still had my forums
2 of these servers were high end servers with 2 gb ram who served the 4 forums
and they costed alone about 220 euro/month
the other two servers are only 512 mb ram server and cost me only about 110
euro/month which made the total bill around 330 euro/month
now i hear you guys comming with i got donations and publicity money from my
forums but i can assure you i never get enough to pay everything from that money
so i put always a lot of my money in my hobby...

since i closed down the forums because of too high costs did i cancel the two
very expencive servers and got 1 new low end server on a big line but who has
also only 512 ram...

these 3 servers cost me now a total of 150 euro which is half of what it was
before...

now getting from 4 to 3 trackers already made a bit of a pile up but the fact
that american television programmers made now from monday evening the most
popular day by releasing 24 / prisonbreak and heroes on this evening makes it
so that my trackers get on tuesday morning a real hard time because of these
three series... (these 3 series get a load of about 200.000 peers in a matter of
a few hours and that for at least 2 days) and now that wednesday lost is also
back will make it that 1 tracker is nearly all week running under a very big load...

these very big loads result in time outs and message that the tracker is not
reacheble... (my trackers handle an average of 900.000 peers with peeks on
mondays and wednesdays who go over the 1.000.000 peers)
there is nothing i can do about it without getting more servers and being able
to install a few extra trackers to devide the loads...

i am not going to ask now for donations or whatever, i just want people to
realise what is going on and the moment i see that donations come in regulary
and we have enough money to setup more trackers than i will do that but with my
new budget is this the best i can do...

so no need to complain or ask me why the tracker is slow or not responding ...
you all know now what is going on and the solution is in the "peoples" hands

to all the lamers that complain, if it doesn't work with eztv, there's plenty
ways to get the files on time (irc, rapidshare links, reseeds etc ...), i
always manage to get the episodes when i need to get them shortly (when i have
to do the subtitles for the ep' for example), if you stick your fingers from
your ass for a few secs, you'll find plenty alternative ways and allow noobs to
get their ep' before they start learning how it works 😉

just use the announce url without the port and announce and you will get on
there ... for example eztv.sladinki007.net

it are just the trackers who get swamped by requests
this evening lost will do it again to one of the trackers ☹️

nothing we can do about it without being able to setup more trackers

try to go directly to the source ... http://www.1000fr.com/ , it chinese and hard
to understand at first, but they are the very first to issue subtitles in
english ... usually a couple hours after the episode is aired ...

i'm afraid i am one of the many who are hitting the tracker for lost.

won't it help reduce the server load if all users disable scraping their queued
torrents?
