coil cheers for that information, interesting read. i have no doubt that many networks cave into to
private, corporate or political pressure and i'm rather surprised that the discovery channel is one
of those networks. fortunately for those wishing to hear all the facts they will still be able to
download the episode from this fine site.

it's needless to say i'll buy the boxset on bluray, not necessarily for the subject matter but for
the high quality cinematography that frozen planet has been produced to.

well stated wbro. the camera work is unparalleled as far as i can tell by any other network. bbc and
david have continued to hold my excitement for many years now.

i highly recommend finding/watching "life in the undergrowth" - i was shocked how entertaining and
amazed i was about insect life. of course, blue planet, life on earth, life of mammals, private life
of plants, et al, are all great series to watch, and from which to learn.

had some issues with this rip - here are some screenshots to clarify:

the first image is not an error, but merely a notice that these gem tv rips have annoying pop up
content during the documentary.

the second image is an actual flaw in the rip.

thanks for the freebie, but hopefully someone comes along later with higher quality material without
pop ups, logos, and flaws. 🙂

this tastetv rips of "frozen planet" are from the gem/9 network in australia, aired earlier than the
bbc. the bbc will show episode 7 on dec 7th. the gem/9 episodes have to fit into 1 hour including
adverts so the "freeze frame" section is omitted.

watch out for the barge copy.

i should have said

"watch out for the barge or ftp copy."

actually, i think the reason it's not airing in the us is less political and even stupider. discovery channel,
when it's brought over the attenborough hd bbc nature documentaries (e.g., planet earth, life), has
always revoiced them--eliminating the attenborough narration with an actor voiceover. for planet earth,
they used sigourney weaver, and for life, i believe it was oprah winfrey. they still haven't figured it out,
despite the numerous protests over them doing similar stuff on bbc america (you *did* know that bbc
america was a discovery channel, right?) programming, that americans actually don't mind british accents.
::eyeroll::

they'll undoubtedly do the same thing with frozen planet, so it'll make no sense to suddenly have
attenborough appearing all over an episode when there hasn't been any evidence of him in the series to
date.
