here's a bit of a newb question ...

i have a series of epi's, all are about 350mb. one is 369mb.

i wish to burn all the epi's to dvd, but the project is 7mb too large, even
with overburn enabled.

i wish to resize the 369mb epi to 350mb. maybe reduce the bitrate or
something. however, i don't know which tools to use! i've tried many avi
editors and stuff, but nothing's giving me the final result i seek.

advice, suggestions, guidance?

thanks in advance.

download virtualdub (virtualdub.org/download).

if you just want to lose 19mb, i recommend editing out the intro or credits.
to do that you need to...

a. import the file to vd.
b. scroll to the beginning of the part you want to edit out.
c. press home (on your keyboard).
d. find the end of the part you want to edit out and press end.
e. then the part you want to edit out should be highlighted.
f. press delete.
g. click the video tab and choose direct stream copy.
h. then go to file--> save as avi and you're done!

the same thing i would advice but one add - if its vbr mp3 audio - use vdubmod
or better nandub. just to be sure to have everything in sync.

oh yeah most xvid movies get messed up in the original vd. you can get vd mod
from here: virtualdubmod.sourceforge.net
