i quite like her standup routines and other bits and pieces i've seen.
her stuff has a biting edge that gets balanced out by the weird quirkiness of
the persona.
somehow the slight toning down for basic cable seems to have killed it stone
dead.
all that's left is that she is just really fucking annoying.
sarah silverman annoys me even more than paris hilton, something i thought
wasn't possible in this dimension. the real stinker is that i like most of the
cast, but the main character (sarah) blows that all away.
i like sarah silverman, and i like her show. it's obvious that she likes
incorporating singing into her humour, which is particularly noticeable in
"jesus loves magic".
i'm hoping the show will get better. i wouldn't say the first episode was
hilarious, but there were a few laugh-out-loud moments in there.
if it was just borderline, and showed some spark of future promise, then maybe.
but, for me, the show just flat out didn't work. it was *so* bad i can't
realistically see it undergoing a drastic enough change to be worth trying
again.
i agree that if it were borderline, i'd give it a chace of a few episodes. but i
think the 'female adam sandler' thing has hit the nail right on the head. it's
just so insanely immature.
