we're sorry this is late but we've been experiencing some issues with
our cartoon network feed these past couple of days. there might be some
minor glitches on this release. we asked fqm and they didn't have the
episode recorded. our apologies but there's no other rerun scheduled
so we thought it would be better to have the episode out there then not
at all
definitely the most childish, story-deprived, and least interesting episode of thundercats 2011. we
had to wait 2 months for a cheap episode about robotic teddy bears? the concept of the robear
berbils was lame back in the first incarnation of thundercats. the writers must have a severe
deficit of their own original ideas, so are just trying to rehash stale crap from 20 years ago. this
entire episode revolved around the pandering of the concept of cuteness to the audience. there
wasn't even any story to accompany this episode; where did these robots originate, who or what built
them, did they evolve by natural selection somehow, do they form familial bonds, why do they help
complete strangers that may enslave them, etc etc... not the slightest hint of writing involved in
this episode. just a bunch of robot talking cutesy characters, the thunder cubs getting sugar
crazed, and panthro acting like a tough man.
i suppose they're trying to target this show now to a young audience of pre-pubescent children, 12
and younger. if that's the case, i'm glad we didn't have to pay for cartoon network service. f*ck 'em.
this show is yet another in a long line that causes me to think american tv culture has hit rock bottom.
i presume their introducing them for historical reasons, it was the berbils that built cats lair in the
original and after they fixed the thundertank im guessing they will be doing the same in this.
didnt really touch too much, though as the earlier episode explained all the races are on the planet
because they were enslaved soldiers perhaps the berbils were robotic servants which maintained the
ship or grew food? familial bonds was touched on robo-bill had a wife and child and there seemed to
be other families too.
