why don't .mkv files play on vlc?? prob a noobish question but i've always wondered as i have not
had any problems playing any other file using vlc. plus i thought the season 2 premier was meant to
be an hour and a half long but this one says it's only 1hr03mins long

vlc plays mkv files just fine, just update to the latest build ( 32 or 64 bits depending on your os).

the 720p web episode is on private torrent sites and direct download forums ,just google it.
there is a 480p rip on piratebay though (source is the 720p web episode) -

about 4 minutes in, my wdtv kicks me out when watching this. i can ff a couple seconds past this
part and keep watching. error has been happening on a lot of show in 720p and regular definition
this season.
any pointers?

maybe the latest codecs are not compatible with those on your wdtv.
lately some videos don't work in windows media player classic, gotta watch em in the regular player,
so even though i use a pc, there's weird stuff happening on that front as well...
