her character is not believable and i don't think that she knows what she is doing with it.
it may have been written and rewritten and focus grouped to death.
they did change 1/5 of the cast from ep 1 to 2.
so far, though, this is looking as bad as the friends spinoff 'joey'.
i disagree with the op who stated zd makes him want to put a gun to his head. frankly, i
want to take that gun to zd's head and to the writers' responsible for this crapfest!
thank god for raising hope, modern family and the middle.
i couldn't even get through the first ep. it wasn't funny at all. fox may have picked up the show for more
eps but i can't imagine it will get a second season. crap show with a crap cast, minus zooey.
i used to have a super crush over zooey deschanel--and don't get me wrong, she's great--but it does
kinda seem like ever since she's been called an "indie queen" and gotten all this attention, it's kinda gone
to her head a bit and she's become a little over-the-top.
i was stoked when i heard about her new show. and pretttty unhappy when i saw it. i'm glad i'm not the
only one who thinks this show is barf-worthy. so forced, so not funny, so fake. but...when she puts
vampire teeth in...come on--you can't tell me that doesn't make you giggle just a little.
and the last episode with natasha lyonne--now that was something. every thing that came out of
that woman's mouth was pure hilarity. every move she made, all the body language--every look she gave
was pure hilarity. i wondered what happened to her after but i'm a cheerleader and american pie and all
that.
i had stopped watching new girl after about 1.5 episodes, i was so disgusted. but this episode made me
think that maybe--just maybe--they could get their shit together and make something decent out of this.
pilots generally always suck; it usually takes a show a while to get its footing.
i've seen every new show this season that sans for some of the boring looking new dramas (read:
ringer, secret circle). and new girl is by far the best new comedy. the writers have a fresh feel
and play off zooey's quirky character really well. this is the type of subtle dry humor that makes
real life fun, brought to a show.
so, oddly, i'm in complete disagreement with some people on the internet. first time for everything.
