from wikipedia:

the series chronicles the friendship between an uptight columnist (hornsby) and his more freewheeling,
iraq war veteran, trainer (kevin dillon).

from imdb:

the show centers on andrew carlson (david hornsby of "it's always sunny in philadelphia" ), an
etiquette columnist at a men's magazine who finds his job -- and outlook on life -- when the magazine's
new owners want more maxim-style content. he strikes up an unlikely relationship with bert
("entourage's" kevin dillon aka johnny drama), a personal trainer who used to torment andrew in high
school but now may hold the key to his continued livelihood.

the series also stars mary lynn rajskub ("24" ) as andrew's sister, rhys darby ("flight of the
conchords" ) as her husband, dave foley ("newsradio," "the kids in the hall" ) as andrew's boss and
nancy lenehan ("worst week," "my name is earl" ) as andrew's mom. hornsby also created the show
and executive produces with "friends" veteran adam chase, ted schachter, joe hipps and modi wiczyk.

the show is a one camera sitcom. filmed in the style of 2 broke girls, the big bang theory, etc as
opposed to a multi camera sitcom such as new girl, happy endings etc.

as far as i know there's more panning and long shots with one camera, as too "off camera 1 on camera
two" eg. when 2 people are talking with more than one camera they show the face of that person,
then as soon as they finish camera 2 cuts in to the second person with no delay if not edited. as
for the 1 camera scene they film both people in one shot talking to each other. i myself don't take
much interest in the difference unless the shot was moving all over the place to catch the action.

man you got it backwards. "how to be a gentleman" is a multi-cam show, just like "the big bang
theory", "two broke girls", "how i met your mother", "two and half men", "friends", etc. basically any
show with a laugh track is multi-cam because they are taped in front of a live audience so the shooting
has to be in "live" mode with camera switching as on-the-spot editing.

shows like "cougar town", "new girl", "happy endings" etcs are taped in a style more similar to a
feature film with one camera rolling at a time. there might be multiple cameras involved in shooting
important scenes but no simontaneous editing. all the cameras are there to get footages for editing in
post production. during editing, footage could be rearranged out of sequence.

("2 broke girls" and) "how to be a gentleman" are multi-camera, live-audience shows

warning: contains spoilers.

over acting, laugh track, pauses in the script to allow for the bad jokes to sink in and the studio
audience laughter to settle down. all of which spoil a show.
