according with imdb this episode is s03.e01. when the official announcement that there will be a
third season they say that the first 3 episodes will be released in fall, and the other 13 next
year. if you look at the episode guide of official web they define episode s02e13 as season finale: http://www.fxnetworks.com/shows/originals/archer/episode.php?season=2
so it looks like it should be season 3 instead of season 2. but anyway, it's a new episode that it's
the more important xd .
the official site says the season finale of season two was 2x13 double trouble and that this the
first of season three. the production numbering also suggests this but someone wrote a wiki saying
these actually were season 2 and the encoder obviously went with that.
but as the good sir twice above me said, sir: all that matters is that the show is back, indeed.
edit#1: ok, ok. with different resources, it does look like the title here is correct. an announcement at
comic-con cites this as the first of 3 in a three-part season 2 finale (i had previously heard this was 301 as
well). this is #14 of 16 for season 2, with season 3 [edit#2: scheduled for 13 episodes] beginning in
january.
season 3 is to be sixteen episodes... i think the confusion lies in the fact that the press release
announcing the renewal of season 3 said the first 3 episodes of season 3 would serve as an epilogue
to the finale of season 2 (that must have been too difficult for some to figure out) and then there
would be a further 13 episodes after those three.
perhaps the comic-con announcement was misworded based off the original press release but *official*
site for archer and fx says it's season 3... even their promos call it season 3!
