http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1850458/

not to rain on parades, however it has a 2/10 imdb rating after 40 odd ratings.

view with caution.

it a sitcom.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/whitney_%28tv_series%29

whitney is an american sitcom that is set to premiere on nbc on september 22, 2011, where it will
air at the 9:30 pm (e/p)/8:30 pm (c) thursday night timeslot. the show will star whitney cummings
(based on her real-life experience and her comedy routines), who will also serve as the executive
producer, creator and writer with scott stuber, quan phung and betsy thomas for universal media studios.

the series follows the titular character, an opinionated woman and her very-supportive live-in
boyfriend. even though the two have decided that they will not commit to marriage, she does question
how committed they are in their 3-year relationship and tries to go as far to prove a point; she
begins to fear what she sees as "relationship boredom" and worries what will happen next that could
possibly end her relationship. because of what she sees and hears around her involving other
relationships, she decides to use unconventional methods to keep the romantic flames glowing with
the help of her close friends.

i have been waiting for this show since seeing an article about it some months ago.

i have seen the promos and it looks to be a very funny sitcom.

here's hoping they succeed.

thanks for posting the first show!

what is wrong with you? are you missing 95% of your brain? are you related to or work for nbc?
the show is using a laugh track!!!!
i hate over used laugh tracks and this show definitely over uses them.
i sorta like the show but don't know if i can sit through another episode of over used laugh tracks.
it too bad too because i like that comedian whitney cummings.

here's a preview of the show http://youtu.be/xnc2qbrzsdm

fair warning: this show has a laugh track.

thought it amusing until that kicked in, and then it was over for me.

thanks. 'nuff said

all you guys who are slagging the show because you can hear the live audience laughing at the jokes, i
have a question for your:

q: do you tell the other people in the audience at a movie theater to shut-up when they laugh at the
funny bits in the movie?

also, the fact that you can not tell the difference between a canned laugh track and a live audience -
maybe you should not be commenting on these shows to begin with.

i enjoyed the show. it's not perfect, but what new show is? i hope that it will grow as the cast members
gel in working together. give it about 6 episodes to see what happens.

and, just to make a point - go back and watch the first 6 episodes of star trek: tng. it's pretty hokey
compared to the great show it became. but i guess that doesn't count because they did not have a
laugh track or a live audience.

fyi: most shows with a live audience still use a laugh track. the two are not mutually exclusive.

although the show uses a live audience the show also uses a laugh track. they choose which laugher
track, when, where, how long, and how loud, to play the laughter.

that aside, i too hope the show can improve and survive. like i said previously i like whitney
cummings.

fyi: i think you are crazy as a loon.

so, it has a laugh track. so do two and a half men and the big bang theory, two of the highest rated
comedies still in production. unlike those two shows though, i didn't actually need it to let me
know when something was supposed to be funny. i liked it.

it aint no raymond. couldn't sit through 5 minutes of it let alone 20. if two and a half men is
anything to go by this show just might last.... unfortunately.

"so, it has a laugh track. so do two and a half men and the big bang theory..."

big bang theory does not have a laugh track - they have a live audience.

if you were to follow producer/writer bill prady on twitter you would know that they specifically do not
use a laugh track on that show. it is purely the audience laughter.

also, check out the vanity cards at the end of the show. one of them in season 3, i think, makes the
statement about not using a laugh track and shows a photo of the audience.

...and i'm not crazy. my mother had me tested.

bbt advertises tickets for the show so ... i'd lean towards a lsa in addition to a nominally used
laugh track.

2.5 men... err .65 men... we'll see how that is next year.
